The Natural Learning Relationships theory:
Healthy adult development and sustainable family relationships
Josette Luvmour has co-created with her husband Ba the Natural Learning Relationships theory of whole-child development, which has practical applications that support optimal well-being in the child and in the family system. She has used Natural Learning Relationships with children and adults, and in working with families, health practitioners, educators, and caregivers on all facets of positive relationships with children.
In 1985, Josette and Ba established a non-profit organization for the purpose of providing an experiential expression of the theory and practice of Natural Learning Relationships. Josette helped develop Summa Institute into a high-capacity organization serving thousands of people through seminars, family programs, child and teen adventures, school, and conferences. The 122-acre earth-constructed/green architecture facility included a conference center and elementary school.
In recent years, Josette expanded her interest to the entire range of human development and adult transformational learning. In 2008, she completed a PhD at Fielding Graduate University with a focus on the developmental experiences of adults who actively work to meet their child’s developmental imperatives. This expanded awareness and expertise informs new and continuing programs for adults and families.
Throughout my career, I have worked to elevate the inherent goodness in people and have dedicated my life to supporting optimal well-being in my clients. My approach to each individual is to promote healthy development through positive life practices—no cookie cutter methods.
