Summa Academy Director

In 1985, Josette and Ba established a non-profit organization for the purpose of providing an experiential expression of the theory and practice of Natural Learning Relationships. Ba helped Summa Institute develop into a high-capacity organization serving thousands of people through seminars, family programs, child and teen adventures, school, and conferences. As the former Executive Director of EnCompass Institute, Ba helped the organization to create 122-acre earth-constructed/green architecture facility including a conference center and elementary school.

Since relocating in Portland in 2003, the Summa Institute has focused primarily on serving agencies that work with children and families. In 2006, the Board of Directors decided to proceed with the development of a home for the Summa Institute that includes a school based on Natural Learning Relationships, innovative family programs, training for staff of social service agencies and teachers. As Summa Academy Director and Master Educator, Ba has continually led Summa to bring forth programs that insure sustainable relationships with children and within families. It is his passion, his vocation, and his never ending commitment.
