The Development of Natural Learning Relationships
Ba Luvmour has co-created with his wife Josette the Natural Learning Relationships theory of whole-child development, which has practical applications that support optimal well-being in the child and in the family system. She has used Natural Learning Rhythms with children and adults, and in working with families, health practitioners, educators, and caregivers on all facets of positive relationships with children.
In 1985, Josette and Ba established a non-profit organization for the purpose of providing an experiential expression of the theory and practice of Natural Learning Relationships. She helped develop Summa Institute into a high-capacity organization serving thousands of people through seminars, family programs, child and teen adventures, school, and conferences. As the former Executive Director of EnCompass Institute, Ba helped the organization to create 122-acre earth-constructed/green architecture facility included a conference center and elementary school.
Ba has successfully applied Natural Learning Relationships to all relationships with children including all types of educational institutions, loss of loved ones through death and/or divorce, training doctors to be relational to their patients, teaching guidance counselors about the importance of interpersonal skill for middle school children, training therapists on developmental applications with their clients, staff training for Rites of Passage organizations, meeting the needs of Asperger’s children, curing dyslexia, teen support, adjudicated youth, and so much more.
Ba sees himself as much as an educator as a consultant and feels most successful when clients understand the needs of all family members and are able to take an active role in meeting the challenges inherent in family life.
